After the murder of former state Chief of Student Organisation of Punjab University (SOPU), Gurlal Brar, possibility of Gang war has been increased in Chandigarh. The SOPU chief was shot dead by three motorcycle-borne assailants outside City Emporium Mall while he was waiting for his friends in his SUV on the roadside.
Gangster Davinder Bambiha’s group took to social media, owning responsibility for the killing to avenge the murder of their associate Lavi Deora.
Members of Bishnoi’s gang had killed Deora at a fair in Faridkot’s Kotkapura on July 15, 2017, in which Brar had reportedly played an active role.
- Shooters killed Ranjit Singh Rana
Lawrence Bishnoi Gang posted on social media that they will avenge one's death by four. After that NSUI (National Students' Union of India) leader Ranjit Singh Rana, who lived in Malot, Punjab, were shot dead by shooters. Ranjit was a partner of Jaipal, the head of the Highway Robber Gang. Jaipal's partner Rajiv Raja was arrested by the Punjab Police. Ranjit absconded him when he was taken on court trial in Panchkula. He was also arrested in this case. Later, when Jaipal went underground, Ranjit Davinder joined the Bambia Group.
