Rajasthan Speaker withdraws plea in Supreme Court, may challenge HC order again

On Monday, The Assembly Speaker CP Joshi withdrew his petition before the Supreme Court against the July 21 state high court order restraining him from moving ahead with the disqualification proceedings against Sachin Pilot and 19 rebel Congress MLAs.

According to the sources, A three judge Bench allowed Rajasthan Speaker CP Joshi to withdraw his petition. Representing speaker CP Joshi, Senior advocate Kapil Sibal said the HC has passed a new order on July 24, which has raised several other issues including interpretation of the 10th Schedule. They have passed a deatiled order. We need time to look at them along with taking in view the legal options before proceeding further.
