Manali, Himachal Pradesh :
One of the most favoured tourist destination in the hill state of North India witnessed a good amount of snowfall. The snowfall in the valley has certainly raised hopes amongst the business community of tourism picking up pace. It is also beneficial for the farmers of the region as it helps in the sowing of Rabi crops. The view of the snowfall in the valley is spellbinding and Manali once again looks set to welcome tourists.
Shimla, Himachal Pradesh :
Shimla district received its first early snowfall in over 15 years. Bringing the temperature down by 5 to 6 degrees Celsius.. "This is first November snowfall in over 15 years in Narkanda, Kharapathar, Kufri and dozens of villages in Shimla district. The districts of Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba and higher reaches of Kullu and Kinnaur have already received snowfall this year," said director Singh, adding the weather will be dry till November 19. "The temperature will drop down further during the next 24 hours in the state."
The upper Himalayan areas in Uttarakhand received the season’s first heavy snowfall, intensifying the cold conditions across the state. Snowfall began at all places in the upper Himalayan areas including Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri , Auli and Harsil on Sunday night and continued till Monday morning, wrapping them in thick, white sheets of snow. Kedarnath, one of the most revered places in India and part of the famous Char Dham Yatra, has also received a fresh spell of snowfall.
Jammu and Kashmir :
The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh received fresh snowfall on Saturday, forcing the closure of the Srinagar-Leh road for traffic, while the plains were lashed by rains, officials said.Many areas in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, including the famous ski-resort of Gulmarg, north Kashmir's Baramulla district, and the tourist resort of Sonamarg in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district received snowfall which was going on when last reports came in, the officials said.
Badrinath, Uttrakhand :
Fresh spell of snowfall lashed badrinath temple in chamoli district. and the devotees were seen enjoying the chilly weather. The badrinath shrine and houses of locals were seen covered with thin layer of snow. Situated in town of badrinath in chamoli district badrinath temple is dedicated to LordVishnu. It is one of the char dham site for hindus(pilgrimage site).
